Timoteus Anggawan Kusno (b. 1989). Drawing from his academic background in Social-Political Science and Religious & Cultural Studies, he uses ethnographic methods and institutional approaches to produce installations, films, drawings, photographs. Anggawan’s works are dealing with the liminality of the fantasy and the history, memories and fictions. Through his works, he creates dialogues about the uncertainty and something considered  ‘not existing’. Along with his artistic practice, since 2013, he has also been developing Centre for Tanah Runcuk Studies (CTRS/www.tanahruncuk.org), a (fictional) institution which conducts experimental studies on a (lost) territory in the Dutch East Indies called Tanah Runcuk, involving historians, anthropologists, fellow artists, and writers. This institution is a laboratory and an alternative instrument to experience how “text” is utilized to construct a “regime”, as well as to read the fiction-like reality through fictional history and vice versa. He lives and works  in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
